Ben Woodward

 

Ben Woodward is a British conductor, coach, pianist and arranger/editor.  In 2022 he conducts Forza del Destino, Carmen, The Midsummer Marriage (Tippett), Die tode Stadt (Korngold), and Das Rheingold, starting off the new Regents Opera Ring Cycle, for whom he is founder and Artistic Director.

He has previously worked for Staatsoper Hannover, das Musiktheater im Revier, Gelsenkirchen, and was on Fest for two years at the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater in Flensburg, where he conducted over 20 performances.  With Regents Opera (formerly Fulham Opera), he has produced and Musically Directed a complete Ring Cycle, Falstaff, Simon Boccanegra, Don Carlo, Die Meistersinger and Der fliegende Holländer.

He was a student at Chetham’s School of Music, was Organ Scholar at Trinity College Cambridge, and was a repetiteur on the opera course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  He also has an MBA.

He lives in Berlin with his wife Catharine and their cat Kira.
